Below we have put together a list of questions we are often asked by our clients. Please read through them carefully. If you can’t find the answer to your question here, please contact us, and we will be happy to help.
How much will my removal cost?
Any removal is subject to a number of factors. Access to and from the property, travelling time, labour and vehicle requirements and packing requirements all have to be considered along with the volume of goods to be relocated. No two removals are the same so there is no ‘ballpark’ figure however a quick survey will be sufficient to provide you with a free and competitive quote.
Are my goods insured throughout the move?
Relocations are fully insured under Public liability which is set up specifically to transport general household effects, covering goods in transit which is subject to terms and conditions.
How much notice do I need to give to book my removal?
Ideally, you should confirm dates as soon as possible as our diary is often booked up in advance. However, Relocations will always aim to accommodate the dates you require as we’re fully aware of the problems you may have obtaining a concrete moving date.
When do I pay for my removal?
Relocations accept payments upon acceptance of our quotation.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for moving day?
Relocations will administer the whole move, however prior to our arrival you should dispose of any items you do not wish to be relocated. Remember to keep separate the items that you will need such as passports, money, important paperwork, jewellery and suitcases.
Will Relocations disconnect my washing machine?
Your washing machine should be disconnected and drained down ahead of our arrival – ideally a day in advance of the move. Our staff are not authorised or qualified to carry out such work.
At the new house will my furniture be placed to my liking?
All your furniture and effects will be placed to your instruction unless access decides otherwise.
Do I need to suspend parking?
The Guernsey traffic committee demand two weeks prior notice to acknowledge a suspended parking application. We have access to the forms and can request the arrangement on your behalf.
